Position Summary:

The Credential Analyst, under the general direction/supervision of the Credential Department Director & Accreditation Specialist is responsible for providing candidates with information and guidance about credentialing requirements and to ensure that the University follows the laws, rules, regulations of State credential program regulations (i.e. California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) and Arizona Department of Education) . The Credential Analyst assumes a broad range of credentialing roles that include auditing, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating candidate files during various points within the educator preparation program as well as processing applications for recommending University Intern Credentials, Preliminary Credentials, Clear Credentials, and certifications. Serves as a resource to provide current information to candidates, staff, and members of the faculty on matters regarding State credential requirements and University policies and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

 

Starting Salary: Non-exempt position at $27.99 an hour ($54,590 annualized) based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years providing academic administrative support, advising, in an institution of higher education or related environment. Work Experience in processing applications, and or academic advising. Work experience in a School of Education setting is desired.

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None.

Skills:

•              Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially SharePoint, OneDrive, and Excel; Adobe; CampusNexus Student, SalesForce, OnBase, or similar databases.

•              The ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

•              High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.

•              The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms.

•              The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and candidates and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines.

•              The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable, and guide candidates toward task completion.

•              Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with candidates and Alliant employees, as well as the Academic Advising Department, specific program departments, and various academic departments.

•              Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

•              Highly motivated, focused, and results oriented.

•              Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality always, especially FERPA.

•              Collaboration and partnering with other university educational partners to support candidate success.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•              Counsel and advise candidates regarding the University’s credential programs.

•              Advise candidates, graduates, and others regarding credential requirements (such as internships or clearing, renewing, or adding credentials).

•              Collaborate with school districts regarding internship and fieldwork requirements as it pertains to credentialing and program completion, if in compliance with FERPA.

•              Remain current on State legal requirements (i.e. CTC or Arizona DOE).

•              Audit, evaluate, and submit applications in compliance with state credentialing regulations to the state credentialing authorities (i.e. CTC).

•              Verify completion of requirements to confirm Program Completers.

•              Certify all candidates for recommendation for Intern Credentials, Preliminary or Clear Credentials, and/or Alternative Certifications.

•              Support & advise candidates in the application for Certificate of Clearance prior to registration for student teaching/internships.

•              In collaboration with University Leadership, partner with State credentialing authorities by attending conferences, office hours, meetings, and workshops to stay current on applicable regulations and procedures.

•              Participate in department meetings, CSOE Orientations, or other events as request/directed, collaborate with the CSOE team to keep relevant forms and documents updated, and share credentialing information with candidates as appropriate.

•              Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or directed.

Direct Reports: None.

Indirect Reports: None.

Contact Responsibility:

Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position with work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e. Admissions, Academic Advising, Registrar, specific programs, etc.) to support both candidates and colleagues in achieving student success and Department goals.

External: Interacts with prospective candidates, to provide advice and support, as well as various State Credentialing Departments, School districts (K-12), and colleagues in other universities.

Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements:

Office Location: Remote.

Work Hours: Standard office hours, occasional evenings may be required.

Travel: Infrequent (i.e. – conferences, seminars).
