Credentialing Coordinator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Initiates the sourcing and recruitment (includes itinerary development) of qualified mid- level and physician candidates.

· Initiates and monitors the clinical privileging process of these positions.

· Utilizes the applicant tracking system to effectively enter information and monitor the new hire and transfer of mid-levels and physicians.

· Assists in the facilitation of new physician and mid-level paperwork process (Human Resource & Employee Health). Facilitates delegated credentialing process.

· Manages the relocation process with approved vendors.

· Prepares onboarding and orientation itineraries and orientation packets for Physicians, NPs and PAs.

· Assist with onboarding for ambulatory “providers” as needed.

· Works with the Graduate Medical Education programs on the new hire process of residents and fellows.

· Develops working relationships with physicians, clinic managers and others both externally and internally to provide networking and recruitment sources.

· Processing and verification of documents related to medical staff applications, reappointment of members (every 2 years), and ongoing maintenance of credentials for current licensure, certification, liability coverage, controlled substance and drug enforcement certifications. Primary source verification performed as required.

· Coordinates quality audits of credentialing and provider enrollment functions.

· Maintains credentialing database to provide accurate information and updates for medical staff.

· Oversight for appropriate registration and renewals of all providers and entities in the National Practitioner Data Base (NPDB).

· HR onboarding for Ambulatory providers.

· Coordinates locum process: Communicate with departments regarding locum needs, develop strong relationship with locum companies, and responsible for clearance process.

· Process expense reimbursements for interview candidates.

· Works with Medical Staff office to maintain current files for Physicians, APCs, and Locums.

· Assist with new provider reception planning.

· Assist in malpractice renewals annually.

· Assist new providers with IT support and initiating IT help desk support.

· Performs management functions related to accounts payable and expense reporting.

· Maintains applicable shared drive folders.

· Assist with assigned projects and related needs.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field OR 5+ years related experience required.

· Prior Human Resources credentialing experience preferred.

· Healthcare experience preferred

· Demonstrate positive customer service orientation
