Credit Analyst
Description Job Summary: We are seeking a Credit Analyst with experience in financial analysis and credit assessment, particularly within the context of businesses leveraging Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) for accounting and finance operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, assessing risk levels, monitoring accounts, and supporting the company's credit and collections process. This is a pivotal role in helping the organization maintain strong financial health while optimizing its cash flow. Key Responsibilities: Credit Review & Risk Assessment + Analyze financial statements, payment history, and other credit data to recommend credit limits and terms for new and existing clients. + Conduct risk evaluations using internal scoring models and metrics based on business trends. + Prepare and present credit risk assessments and recommendations to management. Credit & Collections Operations + Utilize Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) to manage and analyze customer accounts. + Monitor daily invoicing, payment application, and account aging reports within Great Plains. + Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable (AR) team to identify outstanding payments and take appropriate action on delinquent accounts. Client Relations: + Communicate professionally with customers to resolve credit and collections issues. + Negotiate payment terms or repayment plans in collaboration with the Credit Manager, ensuring alignment with company policies. Reporting & Documentation: + Generate, review, and distribute credit and accounts receivable reports using Great Plains and Excel. + Maintain accurate documentation of credit approvals, denials, and adjustments. + Monitor and summarize key credit performance metrics, such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and bad debt exposure. Compliance & Policy Adherence + Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and federal/state credit laws. + Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of internal credit control policies and procedures. Requirements Required Qualifications: Education + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Experience + Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar finance-related role. + Proficiency in Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) required. + Experience with credit risk assessment, account reconciliation, and collections. Technical Skills + Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data visualization). + Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and credit analysis techniques. + Familiarity with other financial or ERP systems is a plus. Soft Skills + Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. + Clear communication and interpersonal skills for internal teams and external clients. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in B2B credit analysis, particularly in [industry-specific context, e.g., manufacturing, services, wholesale]. + Relevant certifications such as Credit Business Associate (CBA) or Certified Credit Executive (CCE). Work Environment: + Professional office setting with flexibility for remote or hybrid work (as applicable). + May require occasional communication after business hours to chase collections or assist international clients.
