The Credit Analyst II is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data to determine the credit risk of new and existing loans. This position prepares underwriting packages and provides input on loan requests in order for a sound credit business decision to be made by Relationship Managers.

Key Responsibilities:
·Gathers information needed to underwrite loan packages by conducting customer interviews and requesting credit reports and financial statements on borrowers and guarantors of proposed requests; works to clear any outstanding exceptions.
·Spreads financial statements and conducts comprehensive analyses to determine the degree of risk involved and profitability of extending credit or lending money, such as cash flow, trend and industry analysis.
·Prepares underwriting packages; communicates results and recommendations in a written narrative.
·Monitors and updates pipeline and other department reports; communicates with Relationship and Portfolio Managers on status of pending requests.
·Maintains physical and electronic credit files; retrieves documentation for audits, exams and assessments.

Competencies Required:
·Working knowledge of lending and credit risk management concepts, practices and procedures.
·Solid technology and internet skills, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Excel) and ability to navigate financial software applications.
·Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
·Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
·Good attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.
·Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills; demonstrated ability to make sound business judgments.
·Strong customer service and communication skills, including technical writing abilities.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
·2 years’ directly related credit analysis experience required.
·Middle Market underwriting experience preferred.
·Exposure to and full understanding of Commercial Loan Documents preferred.

Formal Education & Certification:
·Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics required; with a minimum of 12 hours of accounting coursework to include Intermediate Accounting I and II, or an equivalent.

Work Status:
·Full-Time.

Supervisory Responsibility:
·None.

Travel:
·0% - Negligible amount of travel expected.

Working Conditions:
·Conditions involve lifting no more than fifteen pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
