Credit Analyst (Sr)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

The Bilingual Credit Analyst makes order release decisions.  Effectively and efficiently manages the company's accounts receivable to ensure that accounts receivable balances and customer payment withholding is kept to a minimum.  Maintains "days of sale" past due percentages and "bad debt write-off" results.  Effectively establishes and maintains limits and terms of sale.  Assists in the expediting of customer claims.  Minimizes past due balances and reconciles accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Collection management of Accts Receivable through Getpaid Software system (faxes, emails, and calls). Order approval decision-making within company policy, through SAP computer system and Getpaid. Credit worthiness of new and existing accounts, including investigation and analysis of financial statements to recommend and decide on credit worthiness to meet sales expectations while effectively managing risk. Expediting and following up on customer dispute claims. Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, setting up payment plan procedures as needed. Monthly report updates using SAP reports and Excel spreadsheets. Determining and placing delinquent accounts for collection through 3rd party agency Coordinate and participate in mtgs. with customers, sales personnel, and other company members.  Assess problem accounts and make recommendations to Controller/Sales Manager Maintain knowledge of all bonding and lien laws in assigned Provinces (where applicable).. Special application preparation for without balances using SAP and Getpaid software systems. Assist with special projects

EDUCATION 

High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred

EXPERIENCE

Four to ten years related experience and/or training out of a manufacturing environment preferred Experience processing credit applications out of manufacturing  High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of credit background, or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of credit background Bilingual French / English is required Bond and lien experience is preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must speak English and Canadian French fluently Working knowledge of Getpaid, SAP, D&B, ReadSoft, PayFabric, Outlook software systems. This position also requires a certain level of negotiations skill when it comes to offering innovation financial solutions, utilizing communication and analytical skills which will increase sales volume while minimizing financial risk and protecting our company assets. Authorization levels are determined according to circumstances -  (1)  an unlimited dollar amount for order release when secured by payment bond, joint check agreement, letters of credit, cash and credit cards; (2) up to $50,000 for credit lines; (3) can make recommendations for credit extensions up to $250,000 with the Division Controller’s final written approval; (4) up to $50,000 for unsecured order release; (5) $1,000 write off for discrepancies; (6) unlimited dollar amount recommendation when working out payment plans, pending final written approval by Division Controller.  Unlimited dollar amount to negotiate and recommend bankruptcy and mediation settlements and when working out payment plans, pending final written approval from Division Controller.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

The salary range for applicants in this position is $60 to $70K based on experience plus a 10% bonus opportunity.  This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
