Title: Credit and Collections Specialist
Location: East Alton, IL, with the ability to transition to Clayton, MO around June 2025
Salary: $52,000+
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available up to 2 days remote per week
Credit and Collections Specialist Essential Job Functions: Responsible for collections activities for a portfolio of customers to achieve monthly cash forecast and working capital goals. Build relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices and gain insight into business operations. Monitor and analyze customer pay trends and communications to proactively address changes in credit profile. Prepare and discuss collection results in weekly aging meetings. Analyze orders on credit review daily for timely decisions and release of orders to shipping. Establish strong working relationships with sales and customer service teams to achieve monthly sales goals while adhering to credit policy and risk management guidelines. Proactively research and resolve disputes in collaboration with customer service and sales teams to attain collections and AR working capital goals. Monitor receipt of invoices and track payment status in customer portals and initiate actions to achieve timely payments. Conduct credit investigations of prospective customers and make credit line recommendations. Assist with credit line reviews and entering customer financials into credit scoring models. Assist with month end closing activities and reporting and support for audits. Credit and Collections Specialist Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of accounting, credit, collections, customer service, finance or related business experience. Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word and SAP experience preferred. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Highly self-motivated with ability to work well with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage high-volume workload and willingness to collaborate and support team members.
Location-Specific Requirements:
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
