The Credit and Collection Coordinator (Senior or Lead) evaluates customers creditworthiness to recommend credit lines based on our company credit policy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.Duties/Responsibilities:Processes credit applications, collecting further information as needed.Reviews credit references by independently validating references provided by the applicant and using a credit reporting service.Gathers and analyzes credit applicants’ financial data to evaluate risk.Assesses creditworthiness of customer and prepares recommendations for increasing or decreasing credit limits.Follows established guidelines to review and make trade credit decisions for new and existing customers.Determines, based on established credit guidelines, credit limit to be approved.Consults with Supervisor other appropriate personnel when client credit requests exceed established guidelines.Partner with collections team to drive management of AR portfolio and mitigate riskCommunicates credit decisions and policies to fellow employees and credit applicants.Performs other related duties, as required.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management preferred.4 years of related experience in credit / accounts receivable preferred.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
