Responsibilities • Manages credit investigation activities, including credit analysis, evaluation and rating of customers and dealers for all the Line Unit credit requests. • Leads financial analysis and risk assessment on new accounts; coordinates with underwriting and structuring of credit requests. • Oversees existing workflow and finds opportunities to reduce costs and risks, while adhering to related policies and procedures. • Monitors negative credit trends and adverse signs in existing account quality; recommends preventive actions. • Train and mentor credit analysts to improve their analysis technique and depth, to enhance the risk assessment and propose mitigants. • Review and approve credit requests up to his/her credit authority limit and recommends approval to higher credit authorities. Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. Level Working Knowledge: • Produces and interprets common risk assessment and management reports. • Identifies common technology, security, or financial risks relevant to own function or unit. • Implements or manages risk management for own area. • Documents the key steps of a unit-specific risk management process and associated procedures. • Evaluates risk assessment models and techniques relevant to a specific line of business. Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Extensive Experience: • Compares and contrasts different benchmarks and measures for assessing credit risks. • Trains others on alternative approaches and methodologies for credit analysis. • Conducts credit analysis for individuals and business entities. • Contributes to the establishment of best practices in credit analysis and verification. • Advises others on the use of technology in strategic credit analysis policy management. • Analyzes how credit decisions impact the customer. Financial Statement Analysis: Knowledge of financial statement and balance sheet; ability to analyze financial statement data and determine the credit-worthiness of a business enterprise. Level Extensive Experience: • Evaluates financial statements for multiple industries and sizes of companies. • Directs the usage of all major financial analysis ratios. • Recommends alternative sources for and uses of comparative ratios. • Teaches others the difference between audited, un-audited, adjusted, and pro-forma reports. • Advises others on comparing borrower ratios to appropriate industry benchmarks. • Analyzes and interprets multi-year financial statements; highlights key changes.
