Credit Products Manager - C&I Lending - Credit Products

SUMMARY:

Supervises and directs the activities of the Senior Credit Product Team Leads and their teams in regions of responsibility. Evaluates and monitors credit risk for the commercial loan portfolio through specified activities set forth in Credit Policy, internal operating procedures, or industry best practices. Works in concert with the Commercial Banking team, Commercial Administration and Credit Administration to support loan production and achieve profitability and credit quality objectives. Provides advice and guidance to credit analysts, commercial banking officers, and others on various matters on both a transaction and total portfolio perspective.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary focus of the role is on the Commercial and Industrial aspect of commercial lending.

Supervises and monitors the activities of Senior Credit Product Team Leads and Credit Product Officers including planning and assignment of duties, special projects, and workload balancing including the review of work for proper completion.

Reviews, critiques and processes credit summaries for commercial loan requests that have been prepared by staff.

Analyzes, evaluates and prepares credit summaries for complex commercial loan requests.

Prepares the annual performance reviews within their group and makes recommendations on salary adjustments and promotions to the Credit Product Director.

Provides frequent communication with the Senior Lender, Commercial Banking Executive, and the Senior Credit Officer in their region regarding portfolio trends and/or credit or production concerns.

Provides timely response to questions from Commercial Banking Officers and other personnel.

Interfaces with internal /external auditors, regulators, and loan review personnel as directed or needed.

Identifies areas for process improvement and assists in developing and implementing solutions.

Attends various committee or other meetings as directed or needed.

Handles all matters in a professional and confidential manner.

Manages workflow and assigns work to team.

Scans deals for proper information before assigning to team.

Assists team members in developing their underwriting skills and credit knowledge.

Participates on special project teams as situation arise.

Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the bank’s policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Ability to coordinate and/or manage multiple tasks in various stages.

Good time management skills.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Bank’s loan systems and credit approval process.

Be an advocate for the Bank when interacting with customers, vendors and other third parties.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.

Previous experience with software for commercial loan analysis.

Promotes and effectively uses available technology to execute the duties and responsibilities of the department.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the employees.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsible for evaluating performance, making recommendations on salary adjustments and promotions to the Credit Products Director, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities include interviewing, assisting with hiring, coaching and training employees.

Other responsibilities involve planning, assigning and directing work.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to write presentations that conform to prescribed style and format.

Ability to effectively present information to top management.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as net present value and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

ADDITIONAL POSTING INFORMATION:

The wage for the Commercial Product Manager – C&I position is between $130,000 to $165,000 annually.  The position includes 27 days of PTO (Paid Time Off), 5 days of STD (Short Term Disability), and 11 annual paid holidays.
