SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)Makes outgoing collection calls on self pay patient accounts and handling self pay mail. Assists in the charity care process. Answers incoming phone calls from internal and external customers regarding Capital Health patients' accounts.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation :High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Less than one year of previous customer service and billing collection experience.
Other Credentials:
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of microsoft office. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMakes outgoing collection calls on self pay patient accounts and handling self pay mail. Assists in the charity care process. Answers incoming phone calls from internal and external customers regarding Capital Health System Patient's accounts.Works and keeps current with their assigned Aergo work list. Inputs charity care information into the HBOC system accurately.Pulls documentation for any patient accounts audits (i.e. charity care, blue cross defense audit) as directed by the credit/collection supervisor or team lead. Updates timely and accurately patient account record in HBOC with any new information.Researches thoroughly on any self pay credit balance to see if the balance can be applied to another open account.Performs other duties as assigned and adapt to changing departmental demands as needed.Answers all calls according to the Capital Health (CH) phone script identifying required details as established by department. Answers efficiently and satisfies customer questions prior to hanging up. If the credit representative is unable to answer or satisfy the customers question prior to hanging up or calls back customer within 24 hour period.Handles all incoming business office e-mail in the same manner as phone calls in a timely and efficient manner.Performs other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTFrequent physical demands include:
