Credit Research MBA/Graduate Internship – Investment Grade, High Yield, & Private Placement Debt (Multiple Positions) - Summer 2025

      

Our summer internship program is designed to give students relevant work experience in specific functions, providing a deeper understanding of the investment processes of a Fortune 500 financial services organization. The program offers interesting challenges, valuable experience, and an opportunity to get to know Thrivent. This internship is a key piece of Thrivent’s program to ensure a strong talent pipeline to meet the needs of the organization now and into the future. This is a tremendous internship opportunity to join Thrivent Financials’ Investment team.

         

          

A Fixed Income Research Intern is offered the opportunity to support the research and analysis functions across the public investment grade, high yield, and/or the private debt market. This position will have daily interaction with portfolio managers, directors of research, and senior research analysts across the fixed income teams.  We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in a career in fixed income and a knowledge of investment analysis.  Qualified candidates will have excellent analytical problem solving and communication skills in addition to strong academic achievement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide research support for analyzing and underwriting bond investments.   

Monitoring credit risk and performance of existing investment holdings.

Perform independent research on industries and sectors within fixed income market.

Participate and contribute to all aspects of the investment process including meetings with issuers and management.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Completed first year of graduate program with a demonstrated history of strong academic performance.

Working knowledge of accounting, finance, corporate strategy, real estate and financial statistics.

Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making and mathematical skills.

Ability to take work direction from various leaders as well as work independently.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel.  Experience with investment tools such as FactSet, Aladdin, and/or Bloomberg is a plus.

Ability to work full time during the summer (May-August).

The applicable hourly wage range for this full-time role is $45.00-$65.00 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions.
