PenFed is hiring a (Remote) Credit Risk Data Manager associated with our San Antonio, Texas service center. The primary purpose of this job is to support the multiple departments in the Chief Credit Office with data management, transformation, and process improvements providing high quality data to Quantitative Risk Management, Consumer Retail Credit Risk, Mortgage Credit Policy, and Commercial & Counterparty Credit Risk. This includes but is not limited to managing data engineering and logistics for model implementation, analytical reporting, model execution in the production environment, data process documentation, data quality assurance, and other related ad hoc analytics within the Chief Credit Office. **This role can be located anywhere in the United States** The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $91,499 to $138,891 This position is eligible for the organization’s annual Balanced Scorecard bonus subject to board discretion and approval This position is also eligible for the opportunity for an annual Pay for Performance bonus Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of job duties and the position will perform other duties as assigned. Manage various data projects to support the credit risk management teams. Resolve data quality problems. Integrate new data that becomes available. Manage the data process with external analytical vendors. Support departmental initiative to create a structured production credit risk database. Research all existing reports published and understand the component criticality. Translate component criticality metrics into data field requirements. Review existing SQL, SAS, and Python code that generates the relevant fields and recreate in a structured star schema environment. Create a Data quality process that identifies data quality issues. Develop a series of data quality tests reported on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis. Investigate and understand the nature of data quality issues and work with people across departments or vendors to correct data and address the root causes of the issues. Work with IT, Enterprise Data Governance, Finance, Accounting, Underwriting to understand data process interdependencies and how to integrate with credit risk. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Finance, Accounting, Second- and First-line risk areas. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, Econometrics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or Finance. Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience from a financial institution or consulting. Minimum two (2) years of experience with a Master’s Degree in the related field. SQL coding expert with four (4) years of experience wrangling unstructured data from various sources to produce risk reporting and analytics using SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Access or other database tools. Experience interpreting regulatory guidelines & requirements for risk reporting and engineering data processes to satisfy these requirements. Knowledge of data requirements to support CECL/ALLL and/or CCAR/Stress Testing on credit risk related experience preferred. Prefer candidates with strong intellectual curiosity and diverse experience working in non-technical as well as highly technical roles. Ideal employee will have good common sense to understand business problems and how to transform and utilize coding and technical data techniques to solve those problems. Possess effective communication skills to condense technical subject matter into clear presentable messages to different audiences. Reasonable familiarity with some statistical tools (SAS, R, Python) and data analytic/visualization tools such as Tableau, Excel and PowerPoint. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
