Credit Specialist

IDEXX is looking for a Credit Specialist who will perform a variety of functions involving collection of accounts receivable and reconciliation of customer accounts.

The Credit Specialist will review information to determine account status and contacts customers to collect funds. You will negotiate payment arrangements with customers; maintain system account information, respond to and research questions and resolve issues as needed. Each Credit Specialist manages a portfolio of accounts and completes activities as queued up by the predetermined collection strategy.

This position is onsite at the Global Campus in Westbrook, Maine Monday-Friday during training from 8:30am-5pm EST. Completion of training will provide a hybrid schedule.

What you will do:

Performs variety of accounts receivable, customer data, and/or other related data input/posting/maintenance/ processing into financial accounts, related systems and other informational databases.Collects overdue receivables, using multiple systems. Initiates out-bound and responds to in-bound calls. Maintains a positive relationship with customers ensuring prompt payment of accounts and positive conflict resolution. Negotiates payment arrangements with customers. Manages and process payment arrangements/plans. Routes customer disputes to the appropriate parties for resolution.Audits, validates and reconciles data for accuracy to ensure adherence to established policy. Resolves discrepancies and makes corrections as needed.Inputs data into accounts, systems and/or databases according to established guidelines and procedures.Receives transaction information such as authorizations to pay and other information from related departments, outside customers and others. Ensures information is complete before processing.Responds to and researches questions and issues as needed. Communicates with related departments, Employees, customers, financial institutions and others to exchange information. Consults and interprets appropriate policies as appropriate and resolves issues. Trains Employees and others as needed.Identifies process improvement opportunities and assists in implementation.Work typically involves technical skills and/or administrative duties within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.Resolves routine issues without supervisory approval.

What you need to succeed:

High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred.Data entry skills, including accuracy and speed in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.Ability to work with variety of systems and databases. SAP knowledge preferred.Detail-oriented, patient and thorough.Good customer service skills, with ability to exchange information with wide variety of people.Verbal and written communication skills.Organized with ability to multi-task.Ability to work both individually and as a team player.PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
