Credit Specialist (Tier II)
Description We are seeking a Credit Specialist (Tier II) for an opportunity in ROCHESTER, New York, 14623-4292, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for managing credit risk, providing advanced client service, and supporting our internal and external partners. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risks. Responsibilities • Conducting comprehensive reviews of incoming clients using our payroll services to mitigate credit risk. • Delivering advanced client service and technical product support to both internal and external stakeholders. • Ensuring that problem resolution is timely and accurate to minimize risks. • Reviewing, approving, or denying credit authorizations, payments, or termination decisions to mitigate potential risk and ensure the best financial decision is implemented for the client and our organization. • Preparing recommendations to management on items exceeding a certain threshold. • Conducting credit reviews on new payroll clients and interpreting credit reports and other financial data to assist in the credit decision-making process. • Identifying and researching potentially fraudulent clients and escalating all positive matches to a supervisor and the fraud investigations group. • Conducting daily reviews of incoming clients to determine potential matches to previous clients that have been terminated for non-payment of payroll or invoice amounts. • Removing clients from our services when required and diffusing difficult client concerns, notifying management of critical situations to ensure the best solution is implemented for the client and our organization. • Researching and resolving product and service issues from the field and our clients, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions input into the product systems. • Participating in product-related projects or training sessions to ensure our area of responsibility is represented, and staying abreast of all product offerings, regulatory changes, policy changes, and industry developments. Requirements • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Credit Risk Management • Proficiency in Policy creation and implementation • Proven experience in Payroll handling, preferably with Paychex Payroll • Ability to handle Invoices and Payment Processing efficiently • Strong research skills with an emphasis on Research Analysis • Experience in performing Ad Hoc Financial tasks • In-depth understanding of Credit procedures and regulations • Proven track record in maintaining strong Client Relations • Familiarity with Authorizations and Terminations processes • Excellent Decision-Making skills, especially in potential risk situations • Ability to implement Mitigation strategies effectively • Broad experience in handling Financial Transactions • Proven skills in Problem Resolution • Experience conducting Training Sessions for team members • Experience in Fraud Investigation, particularly in a credit context • Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing Credit Reports • Ability to collaborate effectively with External Partners • Strong understanding of Paychex system operations • Proven experience in making Credit Decisions.
