Pay Rate: $25.00-$28.00 per hour depending on experience

Railserve is a leading provider of in-plant rail switching, transloading, and material handling services — operating at over 75 locations in North America. We use our own locomotives and employees to safely move railcars within industrial, manufacturing and production plants. But we're not just rail car movers; we also provide a number of other services which include: rail car loading, rail car unloading, track maintenance, inspection or repair and many others.

What you'd be doing:

Oversees the work assigned to the crew ensuring that it is completed in a safe and efficient manner.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing performance input.Operate electric forklifts and packaging equipment.Communicates frequently with all departments and managers reporting the progress of the crew's work.Trains new employees on procedures and policies.Plan and direct movement of materials.Coordinate the movements with plant facility personnel to provide required service.Performs peer audits and documents the findings.Prepares reports to explain accidents, unscheduled stops, or delays.Must wear required personal protective equipment.Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 

Requirements

High school diploma or GED  

Proven work experience

Understanding of inventory systems and databases  

Knowledge of the health and safety guidelines  

Excellent physical dexterity  

Good time management and organizational skills  

Having an eye for detail  

Good communication and interpersonal skills  

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  

Ability to work independently and collaboratively  

Ability to work for long, flexible hours and on weekends  

Highly motivated and hardworking individual  

Strong multitasking abilities
