Crew Pay Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE
Provides daily data entry, pay processing and employee customer service.  Oversees payroll processes workflow. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·        Produces and audits daily reports from the crew scheduling software system and makes corrections as necessary.

·        Manages the workflow of payroll processes.

·        Reconciles payroll and creates pay sheets to send to corporate payroll.

·        Investigates and resolves pay issues and discrepancies.

·        Responds to and investigates associate emails and phone calls regarding pay issues and questions.

·        Tracks new hires, terminations and transfers to ensure correct pay.

·        Trains and supports departmental new hires and temps; fields questions in supervisor absence.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

 

·        High school diploma or general education degree (GED); requires familiarity with computers and software. 

·        No prior experience necessary. 

·        Requires attention to details and interpersonal skills.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

·        Specialty training beyond high school specific to payroll. 

·        Prefer at least 1 year of experience in a payroll function. 

·        Auditing and accounting experience is helpful.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

·        Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

·        Able to write simple correspondence. 

·        Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

 

 

 

 

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

 

·        Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

·        Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

·        Able to focus with clear vision at 20 inches or less (computer screen).
