POSITION PURPOSE

Crew Schedulers are an integral part of the SOC and serve as a critical component to the airline’s operation. Ensures each scheduled flight departs on time with a legal and qualified crew. Follows all policy and procedures for maintaining crew legalities to prevent disruptions in the day-to-day operations due to crew issues. Maintains a high level of customer service within the workgroup.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, Union contracts, and Company policies.Maintain Republic’s on-time KPI metrics by ensuring all flight segments have been assigned to qualified and legal crew members.Modify and resolve all trip pairing conflicts that arise due to weather, maintenance, or crew issues and comply with all applicable FAA regulations, collective bargaining agreement(s), and company policies while using good decision making and judgement in using resources efficiently and meeting on time departures.Proactively resolve flight crew legality issues, rest requirements, and process daily absences, operation reassignments, crew swaps and crew movement while using cost-effective solutions and resources efficiently.Build and assign all open crew member flight segments into trips for appropriate trip coverage.Coordinate with dispatchers, coordinators, supervisors, and support departments to resolve operational issues.Conduct on-the-job training of new hire crew schedulers, as needed.Provide 24/7 support to Pilots and Flight Attendants by processing sick calls, trip trade and drop requests, general schedule inquiries, and other daily schedule modificationsCoordinate hotel accommodations, deadhead travel, and ground transportation.Provide exceptional and timely customer service to the crewmembersMaintain a strong working knowledge of federal aviation regulations and applicable collective bargaining agreementsCollaborate with internal departments for a safe, efficient, and reliable operationCommunicate professionally with coworkers and vendorsUphold Republic Airways’ BEST guiding principlesOther duties as assigned or requiredPerforms other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

At least 1 year of exceptional customer service experience

Previous computer experience with basic knowledge of Windows OS, including

Microsoft Office Suite and various web browsers and ability to learn new programs

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in related field.Previous airline experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Able to deliver negative information in a tactful and professional manner. In order to communicate effectively with crew, peers, and vendors must be able to speak, read, understand, and write English. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to multitask while still upholding a sense of urgency.

DECISION MAKING

Makes decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to established policies and procedures. Able to apply critical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail when making decisions.

Able to sit or stand at a workstation for 10-hour shifts
