Contract Position

Responsibilities:
Design and produce armored combat and support vehicles, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of military personnel through innovative mechanical engineering solutions.Develop and optimize mechanical packaging and layouts for Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and Shop Replaceable Units (SRU) in combat vehicles.Create thermal models from CAD designs, calculate PWB thermal conductivity, and conduct steady-state and transient thermal analyses to optimize heat dissipation.Identify and mitigate over-temperature components early in the design process to improve chassis efficiency.Perform gap analysis for thermal interface materials, ensuring efficient heat transfer and minimizing bending loads.Conduct shock, vibration, and modal analysis to validate the mechanical integrity of LRUs and optimize isolator configurations.Calculate solder joint failure margins for circuit card assemblies subjected to shock and vibration events.Support mechanical engineering best practices in product development for military land vehicle designs.Participate in engineering digital transformation, transitioning from 2D drawings to a 3D CAD environment.Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards for design and technical documentation.Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.Experience Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a related mechanical engineering role (preferred).Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (NX and Creo preferred).Experience with Teamcenter and Vis Mockup (preferred).Strong understanding of mechanical engineering practices for military land vehicle designs.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), and tooling/functional gauging practices.Familiarity with military standards, test requirements, and mechanical industry interface standards (e.g., VITA42/46, COM Express, ETX, VPX).Ability to interpret CMM data and apply quality inspection techniques.Preferred Qualifications:Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible).Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles.Ability to climb on/off and work in confined spaces within military vehicles; must pass Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) test.Experience with mechanical design for ruggedized electronics packaging.Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend overtime as needed.Your Recruiter Still have questions?
