Criminal Investigator (OIG Chicago)

This position is for a Technology Business Analyst working with a team that primarily supports a portfolio of initiatives from our customers within the Facilities Services branch and our Fine Arts program. The successful candidate must be dependable, self-guided, and capable of exercising sound, independent judgement, discretion, and tact. The candidate will require the use of technical skills and abilities to work with a diverse team in the delivery of IT and OT services, maintain relationships with clients and partner stakeholders, support the resolution of service and change requests, and help to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and Board mandates. Requires 4 or more years of relevant technical or business work experience. Requires knowledge of business operations, systems requirements and IT processes and technologies. Experience with information security, privacy, and risk assessment standards including FISMA, SOX, FedRAMP, etc. is preferred. Ability to multi-task and take direction, handle stringent deadlines and time and quality pressures to deliver in a challenging environment. Develops professional skills. Maintains awareness of evolving system development and quality assurance methodologies through professional publications and outside contacts. The candidate will participate in efforts on a variety of technologies and using a variety of applications to include but not limited to: Data Visualization and Dashboarding; PowerShell scripting; Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, managing and querying SQL databases; Microsoft Office 365 suite of products including Office, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power Platform; basic network troubleshooting experience; integrated workplace management and space management systems; construction project management tools, Building Automation System technologies (Tridium Niagara). The Lead Records and Information Management Analyst will lead various workstreams within the Records Management Services function. This role focuses on assisting the Board and Board-delegated functions in identifying and managing the records they create and receive. Additionally, this role will support efforts to decommission, migrate, and destroy eligible systems and records.

About the Job:

Handles assignments in the Banking Regulation and Policy Group of the Board’s Legal Division. The Banking Regulation and Policy Group is responsible for legal and policy issues regarding the regulation and supervision of Federal Reserve-supervised firms and also issues regarding financial stability more generally.

Drafts memoranda to the Board, staff opinion letters, legislative and regulatory proposals, and similar documents. Furnishes legal opinions and advice and responds to System and public inquiries concerning Federal statutes, interpretations, and opinions concerning the supervision and regulation of financial institutions, regulatory responsibilities of the Board, Reserve Bank matters, and related issues. Makes oral presentations at meetings with Board members. The Senior Network Engineer role involves being part of the IT Network Infrastructure (NI) team, responsible for overseeing the Board's enterprise and data center IP Networks, encompassing switches, routers, firewalls, WiFi, and optical infrastructure. Candidates for this position must possess extensive experience in configuring, deploying, and supporting enterprise-class and data center networks, particularly with Cisco Nexus Catalyst platforms (95K,7K). Advanced experience in BGP, OSPF, STP, VXLAN, and network design is essential.

About the Team

The successful candidate works alongside economists within the Division of Supervision Regulation. More specifically, the PhD intern will work within the Policy Research and Analytics (PRA) team. PRA is a group in SR responsible for policymaking surrounding banks’ trading, credit, and operational risk models, researching the economic impacts of regulatory policies, and analyzing information on banks’ internal risk limits as part of Volcker rule compliance.

The PhD intern will also have a chance to interact with the Stress Testing group. Economists in this group support related policy work while conducting research on a range of research areas, including but not limited to the economics of financial intermediation by banks and non-banks, and the implications on bank supervision and regulation, financial stability, and real economic activity.

About the Role

The Ph.D. internship within the Division of Supervision Regulation (SR) provides graduate Ph.D. students the opportunity to collaborate with research economists and policymakers, conduct research towards their dissertation and contribute to the mission of the Board. This internship will be offered as a 6-month long internship opportunity with the Policy Research and Analytics group.

While at the Board, Ph.D. interns will:

The key responsibilities of the Managing Counsel for Fair Lending Enforcement include:

Leading the Fair Lending Enforcement Section comprised of attorneys, economists, analysts and data scientists.Managing fair lending supervision and enforcement matters involving staff from the CCA Division and Reserve Banks. The RBOPS IT Program, System Technology Operations and Risk Management (STORM) is responsible for IT oversight, governance and risk management for our most critical System priorities and support for our RBOPS portfolio; namely the FRFS business lines, Markets, the Federal Reserve's support for the U.S Treasury, National IT, and our emerging technology workstreams. The STORM team is seeking an experienced Manager IT to assist the function in leading our IT oversight, governance and workstream delivery efforts. This position is within the IT Statistics Program Management Office (PMO) unit within Board IT Statistics and is part of the Federal Reserve’s Statistics Function – a national business line that collects financial, banking structure, survey, and contextual information and provides data management services to ensure information is fit for use. The IT Statistics PMO unit’s main responsibility is to provide general support and direction to national Statistics Function activities. In addition to overseeing the function’s automation and business projects and programs, this area is responsible for overseeing the function’s governance, strategic planning, demand management, and national budgets, as well as overseeing the annual performance evaluation process for Reserve Bank Statistics sites.

The Financial Management Oversight Systems section supports the Board in meeting its responsibilities to oversee the Reserve Banks’ financial management and procurement functions and partners with other RBOPS programs to support collaborative oversight of important Federal Reserve System business lines and functions. Additionally, the program focuses on oversight of the strategy and implementation of Federal Reserve System financial information systems, data initiatives and technologies, and other relevant tools supporting financial management activities.

To meet the objectives of the section, the candidate is expected to lead and/or participate in the review of Reserve Bank financial management operations and support collaborative oversight of important Federal Reserve System programs or initiatives. The Economic Data Analyst (EDA) will assist section economists in the development, estimation and application of our suite of macroeconomic models and will have the primary responsibility for supporting and maintaining the section’s information technology infrastructure.

The Macroeconomic and Quantitative Studies section in the Division of Research and Statistics focuses on medium and large-scale general equilibrium models. We prepare forecasts and analysis for the Board of Governors, and our economists are involved in cutting-edge research in macroeconomics and monetary economics, with concentrations including econometrics and dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) modeling (general equilibrium models based on the assumption of dynamically optimizing households and firms).
