Crisis Counselor (Onsite) – Sacramento Pay: $22.64 per hour Contract: 6-Month Contract to Hire Position Overview: Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Counselor to join our team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Sacramento. In this role, you will be the lifeline for individuals in crisis, providing emotional support, assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment/support referrals through the 988 hotlines. Key Responsibilities: + Be the first point of contact for individuals in crisis, offering a listening ear and emotional support. + Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate suicide risk and develop safety/action plans tailored to each caller's needs. + Handle Imminent Risk calls with urgency, ensuring emergency contacts are made and outcomes are confirmed. + Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all crisis line calls and Crisis Chats/Texts. + Adhere to call management guidelines and crisis center policies to ensure consistent and effective support. + Contribute to reporting on crisis center data and outcomes, helping to improve our services. + Keep our community resource database up-to-date and assist with its maintenance. + Uphold the confidentiality of all callers, Crisis Chat and Text users, crisis center staff, and policies.
