Position Purpose:

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Crisis Nurse to provide services to persons experiencing crisis and in need of immediate intervention. The Crisis Nurse shares job responsibilities between three programs: Walk-In Crisis Unit, Central Recovery Center (CRC), and Adult Diversion and Stabilization (A-DAS). By assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care tailored to each patient's unique needs, you will contribute to the stabilization and recovery of those in crisis.

What you will do: 

Completes medical triage and assessmentCase ManagementMedication administration including the administration of long-acting injection medicationsBeing able to distinguish between emergent/urgent needs and ongoing clinical workMedication Reconciliation with physicians and pharmacists.Completes documentation in electronic medical records and utilization of varied electronic portals as needed.Scheduling and tracking consumer appointmentsProvides medication education

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing AND a minimum of one (1) year of paid behavioral health care experience OR a Registered Nurse AND a minimum of two (2) years of paid behavioral health care experience.Current RN License from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.Valid Driver’s License required.Pre-employment drug screening, Act 33/34/73 clearances

Schedule: This is a full-time non-exempt position (37.5 hours/week)

Tuesday – Thursday: 9:00pm - 6:30am Friday: 9:00pm – 6:00am
