As a Crisis Response Clinician, you'll be the primary point of contact in coordinating services for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of law enforcement officials. You'll ensure these individuals have the opportunity to access recommended treatment services and assist in the process as needed. Our ideal candidate is passionate about crisis intervention, has experience working with law enforcement, and strong clinical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with local police departments, co-located for timely responseComplete screenings, crisis assessments/interventions, and other clinical services in the communityAssist law enforcement and courts in locating inpatient psychiatric beds and filing involuntary detention petitionsAct as a primary point of contact, participating in law enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams or similar initiativesCoordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals who have come to law enforcement's attentionComplete crisis assessment and/or intake assessments at jail facilities as requestedEnsure individuals can access recommended treatment services and assist as neededProvide brief therapeutic interventions to promote stabilization and assign follow-up services when appropriateReport appropriate information to assigned service providers for individuals already in servicesProvide training and consultation on behavioral health issues for law enforcement officers and agenciesCoordinate and collaborate with local partners in Mental Health Courts or other specialty/diversion courtsMaintain good communication with agency service areas, referral sources, and emergency systemsProvide brief clinical interventions to law enforcement officers and refer them to appropriate resources as needed

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related fieldMinimum of one-year experience working in the behavioral health fieldExperience working with law enforcement is preferredValid driver's license & auto insuranceAbility to interact and work within the police environment and culture
