The Crisis Specialist works to alleviate or stabilize mental health and behavioral health symptoms of selected clients, which impairs their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability; provides linkages to resources that will help client alleviate crisis. Crisis includes both adults and children.
Job Duties Include:
Provides on-call services and crisis intervention, including after hours, weekends, and holidays, according to program guidelines. Position is part time and includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are rotations in positions covering 5pm-8am. (8 hour shifts at minimum) Position requires partnerships in the community working with Local law enforcement, hospitals, Emergency rooms, schools, and community providers Conduct Crisis/Safety Assessment with an ETA of 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) to respond in person. Crisis services also may require tele health or phone crisis support Provides crisis stabilization skills including safety planning, evaluation, and treatment per program guidelines Provides rehabilitative mental health stabilization and specific services according to funding source (such as a Medicaid) where applicable. Handles aspects of intake and assessment as assigned per program Provides transportation for clients within program Provides outreach and in-home services in wide geographical area as appropriate to program requirements. Provides training and education to caretakers where Monitors client progress and periodically reassesses client level of functioning as required byRequired Qualifications
Education
BSW or BA/BS degree in related field or Associate's degree and five+ years experience with Medicaid documentationExperience
