Critical Care PA or APRN
Overview Dartmouth Health’s Cheshire campus seeks an advanced practice provider to join our critical care team. Cheshire Medical Center has seen steady growth in patient acuity with the addition of ICU programs such as Ceribell EEG monitoring, Targeted Temperature Management post-cardiac arrest, and continuous renal replacement therapy. This programmatic growth has created a need for additional support of our critical care team. The role involves nocturnal acute care support in the ICU, medical floors and emergency department. Work will not involve routine floor cross coverage but instead be focused on acutely ill patients in the above settings. This could include admitting ICU patients in transfer from other facilities with the support of in house or telemetry critical care colleagues, evaluation of urgent floor issues in collaboration with hospital medicine physicians, and assisting ED providers with procedures or admissions. Though work will occur outside the ICU, the role will report to the director of critical care. Experience is preferred and the level of independence enjoyed will be commensurate with clinical experience. We are willing to train the highly committed candidate who embraces working in a structured environment where all major decisions, at least at first, will require team physician input. Acceptance of input and demonstrated growth in skills and decision making will be requirements for success in the program. Successful completion of a structured program including the Society of Critical Care Medicine Fundamentals of Critical Care Support course is a requirement of the position.
