Pharmacists perform functions related to the control, monitoring and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advises nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration. Pharmacists promote the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community. *Education Requirements* • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy • Pharm.D. preferred *Minimum Requirements* • Current CT Pharmacist license • Previous hospital or long term care experience highly preferred • Excellent customer service and communications skills *Special consideration will be given to those candidates who:* • have three or more years of hospital pharmacy experience (focused in Critical Care); or •have graduated from an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency program (PGY1) with one year of hospital pharmacy experience (focused in Critical Care); or •have graduated from an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency (PGY2) in Critical Care.
