Job Summary

Cardiac Intensive Care unit is seeking a Critical Care Technician (CCT) for a per diem position.

The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit-Ellison 9 (CICU) is a patient and family-centered 16-bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients, located in Boston MA. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation, ventricular assist devices, CVVH, hypothermia after cardiac arrest, recovery from coronary procedures, including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement, recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure.


 

Qualifications

What are we looking for? 

Assisting the healthcare team, the CCT promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN.

CCT assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.

Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.

 

Must have at least 1 year of inpatient experience within an acute care setting.

Required:

Must have recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care.

Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT-accredited program at the time of hire

-OR-

Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.

 

Schedule:

7am-7pm and 7pm-7am

Mandatory weekend shifts every month
