About the unit:  

Newly constructed 19-bed closed observation unit – focus on the following diagnoses:  Chest pain, Syncope, COPD Astha Exacerbation, Pneumonia, TIA, UTI, AKI, Dizziness & Peripheral Vertigo, ESRD and Missed Dialysis, Cellulitis and Intractable Nausea and Vomiting.  Plan of care focused on discharging patients safely with protocolized care pathways within 24 hours    Increased nurse autonomy in facilitating care plan with support of Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse  Designated provider team (MDs/ APPs) available with Care Management support 

  

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the RN provides age-appropriate care. With guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse, performs duties to support the daily care and mobility of the patient. In a team relationship, gathers data relevant to the individual needs of the patient and/or family and immediately reports status to appropriate personnel. In conjunction with patient assessment performed by licensed professional staff, performs selected advanced procedures. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the Critical Care Tech role. Complies with LifeBridge patient safety mission, policies, and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Valid CNA Certificate from the Maryland Board of Nursing Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA, or 6 months experience as a Medical Corpsman, EMT, or comparable positions, or currently enrolled in an accredited RN BSN program – must have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing and one semester of adult acute care clinical requirement Current Health Care Provider Certification from the American Heart Association
