Critical Environment Operations Manager

As a **Critical Environment Operations Manager** , you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Prevents unauthorized access and manages access lists. Addresses non-compliance with key stakeholders. + Financial Management: Adheres to budgets, seeks cost efficiencies, oversees POs and ATFs, supports budget planning, forecasts costs, and aligns financial priorities to maintain operations. + Compliance & Service Agreements: Ensures contractual compliance, guides teams on third-party adherence, investigates and resolves policy issues, manages audits, and collaborates on global initiatives. + Resource & Team Management: Assigns tasks, ensures resource alignment, leads service delivery, influences cost-effective solutions, boosts morale, and recognizes achievements. + Strategic Vision & Business Alignment: Communicates objectives, aligns operations with business goals, evaluates risks, and promotes a unified company mindset. + Change & Workflow Management: Oversees business changes, ensures adherence to change management principles, minimizes disruptions, and enables process efficiency. + Service Delivery & Incident Management: Troubleshoots service incidents, escalates appropriately, shares best practices, and ensures cross-team collaboration to mitigate issues. + Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Develops and maintains relationships with clients and suppliers, ensures clear communication, supports process improvements, and fosters collaboration. + Project & Program Management: Manages technology projects, resources, and tooling standards, escalates issues, ensures adoption of engineering tools, and improves service processes. + Training & Development: Supports team learning, drives compliance training, mentors new hires, and contributes to industry best practices. + Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyzes KPIs/OKRs, refines processes, reviews vendor contracts, and leverages analytics for operational improvements. + Incident & Risk Management: Leads RCA and mitigation efforts, secures service budgets, ensures service quality, and maintains strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders. + Client Engagement & Communication: Tracks and resolves issues, aligns service delivery with client needs, manages expectations, and presents insights on performance and improvements. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure) and leading teams + OR equivalent experience. **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications** **:** + Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 8+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)o OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) AND Experience managing budget $1M+.o OR equivalent experience. + People management experience. + Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, CCNA Certifications, ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Certifications, Leadership Development Certifications, PMP, CDCP. + Bachelor’s Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services + Experience working on large scale CE projects + Experience with the operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.) Data Center Operations Management M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
