What you’ll do: 

Responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and any third party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and to support operated data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. 

Responsibilities:

Requires meeting all requirements of CET3. The CET4 is an elite SME position. To attain the CET4 level a candidate must be an SME on several critical equipment types. Understand the sequence of operations, how a failure of a piece of critical equipment impact other systems, and have a holistic view of the critical environment infrastructure and ability to comprehend the effect of any actions on a piece of critical equipment or systems, including: MV/LV Distribution Boards, MV/LV Breakers, UPS, Generator, Batteries, STS, ATS, AHU, DX units, Chillers, Evap Washer Systems, CRAC Units, Fuel Systems, ASCO Systems, BMS System, EPMS System, and Fire Alarm System. Capable of reviewing service reports on the critical equipment or systems within the scope of the CET4 position. Consequently, they will be able to spot anomalies in service report findings, improper maintenance practices and capable of flagging deterioration of critical equipment and components therein. Capable of implementing Reliability-Centered maintenance processes and techniques. Capable and proficient in leading and implementing Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) reports. Capable of conducting a detailed root cause analysis (RCA) report. Develop reliability reports to assist in identifying areas for increased efficiency, resiliency, or to mitigate unplanned downtime. Ensures availability and capacity targets are achieved and maintained.

Requirements:

Applicant must have a minimum 10+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. with a high school diploma or GED. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Applicant must hold an active Top-Secret SCI with Poly clearance.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications:

Possess a Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent.

Abilities:

Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time. Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance. Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.  It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
