Responsible for performing and monitoring CT procedures. Under the general supervision of the Unit Coordinator CT, responsible for performing CT procedures on all assigned shift as scheduled. Employee is subject to overtime and call back as circumstances dictate.Required of all license personnel that are exposed to ionizing radiation wear their film
badge(s) while on duty and sign their readings. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs all CT Scan procedures.
Conducts daily calibration checks including electronic calibration.
Prepares and administers contrast media during examinations.
Reconciles, acquires, and processes images in the Radiology PACS setting. Proficient with Power Chart.
Applies appropriate functions and applications within the Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed by Unit Coordinator and/or Manager.
Complete annual check off for Aspiration - Irrigation of Drains/Chest Tubes.
Ensures the proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
Contributes to a positive work climate and to the overall effort of the department and maintains a "CAN DO" attitude.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Skills and proficiency in the technical field of Radiologic Technology. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of a formal education program in Radiologic Technologic (ARRT) that is accredited by AMA.
Consistently smiles and is pleasant to patients, visitors, and co-workers. Cheerfully adheres to and promotes the “Quality Plus” and departmental “Service Excellence” expectation standards.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
Current CPR certification.
Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
Responsible for maintaining current certification with the ARRT.
Must be registered with ARRT within one year of employment.
Is proactive and insure the availability of a current license, does not let license lapse at the end of birth month. Notifies any known problems with their license immediately to the Director.
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of CT experience with CT registry preferred, not required.
Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, ability to perform CT procedures as acquired through 6 months of job training.
