Job Description:Performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and for on-call as assigned. Prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents following protocols and guidelines and communicates patient status to healthcare team members. This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments and breaks in the surgical area. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. The CRNA demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and/team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice of nursing through performance improvement initiatives. This individual is active in professional organizations and participates in community activities. The CRNA will ensure that the patient and family are partners in the plan of anesthesia care.

Education Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse anesthesia.

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE, CRNA in Duluth, MN.

Medically directed practice with collegial AnesthesiologistsThis position is open to new graduatesThere is a $50,000 bonus for this positionMoving expense reimbursement availableBusy surgical schedule that includes all but transplants and pediatric heartsThe CRNA in this position will work at the following locations:St. Mary’s Medical Center, 344-bed tertiary hospital – Level I Trauma Center, high acuity – new facility opened July 2023Essentia Health Surgery Center-Miller Hill – 4 OR’sSt. Mary’s Hospital Superior, WI; 2 OR’s and 2 Endo Suites (approximately 90% outpatient surgery)Essentia Health-Duluth 165-beds, 11 ORs (approximately 80% outpatient casesOutpatient Endoscopy Center

EDUCATION

Must be a graduate (Master’s or Doctorate) of an accredited school of anesthesia.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

Current (or ability to obtain) licensure as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Minnesota.Current certification in CPR, BCLS/ACLSCertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists; and has graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia and is awaiting initial certification. *Must pass certification exam within 12 months of graduation.Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
