The Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) Surgical Specialties Team is seeking to hire Anesthetists - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) - to become a vital part of Emory Healthcare’s integrated academic healthcare system.
Work Hours/Schedule:
Full Time, rotating schedule with nights, weekends.Require participation in the Call Team.Experience:

Recently, we have added the state-of-the-art Winship Cancer wing to our footprint. Our case load includes a variety of surgical oncology procedures with heavy emphasis on Head and Neck Cancer. Additionally, we cover surgical specialties of Vascular, Neuro, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Urology, Ortho, Plastics, and multiple robotic procedures. Our EUHM anesthesia group covers this location specifically but offers the option of covering other Emory sites if desired as extra shift work.
At all Emory Healthcare sites our CAAs, CRNAs and MDs collaborate within the Anesthesia Care Team model ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our patients.
Description Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients.Performs initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician; Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.Interprets and records patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.Establishes multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, central venous pressure, arterial blood gas determinations, hematocrits, and routine measurement of temperature, respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate.Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use. Manages pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program.Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) required. ACLS (AHA) may be required for some locations and/or services.
