Role overview and purpose: We are seeking a talented and driven CRO Executive to join Pearson’s vibrant English Language Learning (ELL) division. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to use both their strong CRO skills to hone and deliver effective digital marketing tactics and support a growing testing and optimisation strategy for our flagship English language test, Pearson Test of English.

You will work as part of ELL Marketing’s eCommerce team and with our Marketing Optimisation lead and data team to devise and implement effective AB testing, campaign features, and other marketing optimisation content. This is a time of growth for our business, and you will also have the opportunity to contribute to our optimisation and martech strategy across more digital customer touchpoints.

Key responsibilities

CRO Strategy Execution

Work with regional and global marketing teams to understand campaign objectives and identify tactics to increase conversion

Ability to analyze user behaviour and content performance to identify areas for improvement.

Work with colleagues to shape and execute A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other optimization tactics to enhance conversion rates.

Collaborate with UX designers and developers to implement changes based on testing results and insights.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content changes and testing, including but not limited to user engagement, user progression, ATB, and checkout funnel.

Maintain and update testing roadmaps and documentation to ensure learnings are captured and shared with the wider ecommerce team.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging best practices in content marketing and CRO.

Content Creation

Develop engaging, persuasive and tailored marketing copy for AB test interventions (including pop-ups, toasts, and snack bars)

Collaborate with teams to plan and implement an expanding testing and optimisation strategy

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and tone of voice, and supports business & marketing objectives.

Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to enhance content visibility.

Qualifications/experience:

A qualification that relates to Marketing, Communications, or proven on-the-job experience in content creation, copywriting, and digital marketing.

Familiarity with CRO principles and tools (e.g., VWO, Optimizely).

Experience writing/editing HTML/CSS for AB test creation

Strong analytical skills and experience with web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).

Experience in optimising content for SEO, and using SEO keyword tools (SEMRush, Ahrefs)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt copy for different marketing channels and purposes

Creative mindset with a strong attention to detail – particularly when conducting tests and analysing results.
