Cross-Functional Support Associate II

Cross-Functional Support Associate II The Accounting Cross-Functional Support Associate II will provide assistance across various divisions within the Accounting Department, including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), by aiding with overflow workloads. This role could also manage projects and perform testing for BOT and application implementations. The position requires maintaining high productivity levels and delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, as well as vendors. Eligibility for this position is limited to current or former members of Niagara's Accounting Team. Essential Functions + Learn and quickly adapt to essential team functions + Data accuracy, reporting, and analysis + Teamwork, collaboration + Process improvement initiatives + Strong and effective written and verbal communication + Networking skills and positive, motivating energy Accounts Payable + Process invoices, including multi-step, both manually and electronically, using 3-way match system and 2-way match system and apply payments to appropriate invoices using payment applications such as wires or credit cards + Research and correct payment discrepancies + Research and correct invoices that are processed manually and via automation such as: OTM, EDI, OBN and BOTs + Recommend updates for automation tools such as: OTM, EDI, OBN and BOTs; work with the AP Analyst or Continuous Improvement Team for implementation + Recommend updates to team workflow and standard procedure to complete tasks + Voice recommendations/enhancements on reporting that will improve time efficiency in AP + Research and correct invoice and payment discrepancies + Review invoices against payment selection and resolve discrepancies + Take appropriate discounts and meet payment terms that optimize rebate opportunities + Solve issues through communication with affected internal departments and suppliers + Create and maintain job aids to improve workflow + Continually review processes, procedures and work habits to improve workflow and cost saving opportunities + Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy + Pull reports as needed + Research and resolve complex supplier issues and disputes by coordinating with supplier and internal teams to ensure prompt and effective resolution + Preform monthly accrual review + Prepare for Month End Closing: + Review Monthly Aging Report + Review Prepayments and apply payments accordingly + Research invoices in Exception Report and adjust incorrect postings + Maintain a high level of productivity and strive to meet KPIs + Provide excellent customer service to suppliers and internal departments + Ability to perform mathematical computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions quickly and accurately + Strong problem solving, analytical and multi-tasking skills + Solid knowledge of and comfort with automation applications such as, but not limited to: Monitor Pro, OACS, Agile + Advanced computer program skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point + Ability to work independently, and with a team, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, organization and timeliness + Ability to competently use a computer keyboard and 10-key, both, by touch Accounts Receivable + Perform business to business (B2B) collections by collecting on receivable balances per payment terms + Develop and manage close professional relationships with customers’ Accounts Payable department including responding to emails and phone calls for current statement, invoices or POD requests + Meet and exceed team and individual KPIs + Review accounts receivable aging and reconcile accounts + Review weekly reports and address any issues as needed + Work closely with the Sales team to resolve customer disputes + Identify customer deductions and short payments, and process or dispute as needed + Validate and dispute or clear deductions/short payments related to fines by researching information provided + Identify on account payments and overpayments, and apply to correct transactions + Understands how to do basic functions, handles a variety of customers.
