Job Description
This role will be primarily remote, with occasional trips to our offices and customer sites.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically-minded individual who will lead the Systems Engineering function responsible for all CommandCentral CRS deployments, both current and in the future as we transition to a DevOps model. The role of the Systems Engineer Team Lead will have direct line management of the Systems Engineering team, and will be responsible for shaping our long-term deployment strategy, driving our organisation-wide adoption of DevOps, and achieving ambitious availability targets for customers.
You are a subject matter expert and will be responsible for planning the activities of the team on a day to day basis. This involves planning workloads, delegating tasks and managing competing demands. You will also be hands on, assisting with the daily operation of the organisation where appropriate.
Dimensions/Scope:
Reports to Head of CRS Technical Operations.
Competencies, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Day-to-day management of the Systems Engineering function, including workload management and administration duties such as performing one-to-ones.
Grow the team through training and recruitment where appropriate to manage increasing demand.
The Product is primarily targeted at Emergency Services to respond to life-critical situations. A risk-averse approach is imperative.
Provide assistance to pre-sales and the bid team.
Occasional customer contact is to be expected.
You will work with our Technical Project Managers to manage the competing demands of resource requirements and implement a plan to ensure resources are utilised effectively. You will also drive improvements within the organisation to implement more effective processes and procedures to improve quality and time to delivery.
Supports the pre-sales and bid processes to ensure our solution proposals are fully designed and documented.
Full Time, Home Worker, with travel to UK and occasionally International locations.

Academic and Technical Qualifications:
Must Have
Ability to attain NPPV3 and SC clearance. Must be a resident of the UK for a minimum of 3 years to obtain.
Previous team leadership or line management experience.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong business/customer facing experience.
Fundamental Knowledge of System Level Design.
Fundamental Knowledge of network principles (including security), WAN technologies and routing.
Fundamental Knowledge of Microsoft Server Family including Server Core.
Experience/support of Microsoft Server High availability including clustering, IIS (web hosting), Application Request Routing, files shares.
Experience/support of Microsoft SQL.
Experience with implementing or managing a DevOps delivery model.
Desirable
Experience and/or knowledge of architecting or supporting Azure.
Experience and/or knowledge of architecting or supporting VMware and NSX.
Experience working with Radio (TETRA, DMR, Broadband PTT etc.) communications systems.
Experience working with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) solutions would be advantageous.
Experience/support VOIP.
Experience with SIP technologies.
Exposure to REST API interfaces.
