Opportunity Snapshot:

Compensation:  $50-55.00/hour, depending on experienceLocation: South Houston, TXWork Schedule: Fri - Sun, 12 hours shiftsAssignment Duration: 12 months+Benefits: Comprehensive insurance including 401K, PTO and holidays Responsibilities Maintaining local area instrumentation including routine maintenance and SQCManaging laboratory data for the local areaProviding technical support and training for crude oil testing to process technicians in the local areaPerforming laboratory analysis (primarily crude oil testing) for custody quality measurement and product quality controlCommunicates any problems, discrepancies or other noteworthy incidents to the supervisor or internal customer without delaySupports and participates in safety programs and meetingsDemonstrates a high level of integrity in all business dealings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is required5+ years extensive industry experience with crude oil testing methods, including ICP metals analysis, high temperature simulated distillation, and other methods commonly used analysis of crude oil samples, is required in lieu of degreeExperience with Wet Chemistry, API, ASTM, and UOP test methods in the crude oil industriesSQC experience in a laboratory environment, supporting charts and issue identificationLaboratory Information Management Systems experience (Labworks preferred)Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safetyMust have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is requiredMust possess basic computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications including spreadsheet and word processingGood verbal/written communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethicMust be accountable and self-driven to learn, and to continuously develop and improve his/her skills through both formalized and on the job trainingWillingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time is required, normally not overnight
