Fann Contracting, Inc - Northern Arizona’s leading heavy-civil and heavy-highway contractor - is searching for a Crusher Laborer/Mechanic to join our team. Hourly pay may range from $20.75 to $40.70 depending upon experience, overtime and travel pay. This is a permanent, full time, traveling position within Arizona offering weekly pay and great company benefits. Typical schedule may include day/night shifts from Monday through Saturday depending upon the repair requirements or job schedule. For safety, this position will typically include working with at least one other skilled craft worker and overtime may be frequent. Our projects include public and private entities including ADOT, FHWA, BIA, city and county municipalities, private residential and commercial developments. Crusher Plant Laborer/Mechanic’s Helper Summary The successful candidate will join our team of maintenance professionals that are responsible for the diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance of our Mobile Crushing Plants which includes travel throughout Arizona (our home base is in Prescott). In this SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION*, you will be responsible for time critical repairs during the day, evening or night shift hours so that production is uninterrupted. This will include all aspects of crusher jaws, conveyors & belts, safety guards, electrical generators and motors. The successful candidate will also have basic equipment operating skills. This position may also include driving a company mechanic’s truck and requires a clean driving record. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Must safely work under MSHA regulations and company drug testing policies. + Must be reliable and have a “CAN DO” attitude. + For this level/position, most tools are provided but you will eventually need to have some of your own. + Knowledge and practice with crusher plant lock out- tag out, confined spaces & risk assessment protocols. + Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather and conditions. + Work often includes exposure to petroleum based or other MSDS chemicals. + Mechanic’s helper assists in creating parts lists and prioritizing repairs according to demand and operations/production schedules. + Assists with preventative maintenance schedule in MSHA site log. + Gathers, records and shares plant information for preventive maintenance. + Safely handles problems in a professional manner during high-pressure situations. + Responsible for assisting with regular mobilization/relocation of Crusher Plant(s). + Ability to occasionally work weekends and/or holidays to accommodate production/project needs. + Overnight travel within the state of Arizona is required (Subsistence typically included). + You must have the ability to work at heights with ladders, safety harnesses, in confined spaces, in around or under equipment. Preferred Qualifications + Minimum 2 years of construction labor and/or technical/mechanical repair experience with mobile crushers, asphalt hot plants and screens. + Should have basic fabricating, welding, cutting torch and other metal working skills or abilities. + Repair knowledge of heavy support equipment such as loaders, trucks etc. helpful. + Computer literate with previous MSHA/OSHA training will be provided/required. + Logical trouble shooting skills and capabilities to isolate and attack problems. + Knowledge of DC power distribution including high voltage diesel generators, electric schematics, diagrams and mechanical drawings would be helpful. + Employees must hold a Valid Driver’s License w/clean record. + Equipment operating skills with a loader, Dozer, Excavator, Hammer Hoe operator would definitely lead to a higher degree of success.
