Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced project engineer to join its team as an Industrial Lead for an Advanced Military Engine Program CIPT. In this key role within the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), you will be responsible for industrial management of all part-level hardware within the module in support of the engine validation plan, as well as a future production ramp.  This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with Engineering management, Program management, Procurement, and suppliers.  This position requires a high level of technical proficiency, effective communication skills, and a strong customer focus to meet the needs of this military engine program.  Experience in design, manufacture, development, validation, and entry into service is preferred.

What You Will Do

Create and manage the overall hardware industrial plan for the CIPT, including hardware tracking, supplier coordination, and proactively anticipating (“fireproofing”) potential issues and identifying solutions.Assist with escalation and risk mitigation of critical hardware needs to meet all CIPT commitments and deliverables supporting program and customer requirements.Assist IPT’s with driving changes and improvements to meet all program and customer requirements.Effective and timely communication of status and risks to the CIPT, SIPT, IPMT, Senior Management, and Customer.Assist CIPT with required budgetary and schedule reporting (EVMS) to the program and customer.There is less than 10% travel associated with this role.

Qualifications You Must Have 

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years previous experience in an aerospace, manufacturing, engineering or a materials management/supply chain/continuous improvement environment ORMaster’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in an aerospace, manufacturing, engineering or a materials management/supply chain/continuous improvement environment.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. SAP, EVMS, Teamcenter, Excel data analytics).Focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure.Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management and suppliersDemonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams, as needed, and when/where to get help.Ability to contribute to Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content.Strong analytical problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of engineering and program management.Experience with compressor component design & development.Ability to obtain a US Government Security ClearanceDemonstrated ability to execute work independently, provide technical guidance, and make decisions independentlyDemonstrated ability to define and plan technical path for medium scale tasks.Experience leading or managing projects.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
