Description:

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) for our Main Operating Room in Boise! This is a PRN position working day shift hours.

As a CST with Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will prepare surgical procedures for physicians and surgical staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be responsible for complying with safety policies, recognizing & correcting breaks in aseptic technique, performing equipment checks for proper functionality, and reviewing/updating surgeon preference cards. You will also gown and glove yourself and other members of the team.

Our ideal candidate has the knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages while communicating effectively with surgical teams and supervisory staff. He or she will have the ability to anticipate and prioritize surgeon needs, as well as independently manage instrument, sponge, and sharp counts for all procedures.

General Requirements:

One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred

License/Certification:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the NCCTAn active LPN license is accepted in lieu of CST/TS-C certificationsBasic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network
