CSX Capital Planning Internship - 6 Months (Paid)

Job Summary:

Supports the capital planning process by monitoring updates and adjustments to the capital portfolio, evaluating project spend, and preparing materials and analyses for the monthly and annual planning cycles.

This program is a paid 6 month internship with an opportunity to extend up to 1 year and you will be required to work in the HQ building in Jacksonville, FL. 

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

Perform manual adjustments to the capital portfolio as needed Assist with the monthly and annual capital planning process by collaborating with Finance and other business partners to obtain support and financial analyses required for meetings Ensure capital projects have materialized by evaluating total spend and project outcomes Prepare presentation materials and content for the monthly and annual planning cycles Assist with design and implementation of new Tech-Based solutions for capital planning  Develop a positive working relationship with all business partners in Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Technology and provide training in using and understanding the capital reporting system Provide support to Finance team by assisting with key initiatives  Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

 Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age  Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or Business Analytics or a related major field of study from an accredited institution. Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale).

Preferred Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or Business Analytics or a related major field of study from an accredited institution. Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale). 1 or more years of non-supervisory experience required in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Business Analytics focused on financial and economic analysis.

Knowledge and Skills:

Written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills Ability to understand financial models and knowledge of financial concepts Time management and organizational skills Ability to independently manage assignments Ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships at all levels of an organization
