Position Responsibilities:
Provides training and mentorship to CT technologists on best proctices, protocols, and advanced imaging techniques. Develops, implements, and fine-tune CT protocols to ensure minimal radiation dose with high quality and consistent imaging results across all CT studies. Collaborate with radiologists for managing and optimizing imaging protocols to ensure compliance with diagnostic requirements and clinical needs. Conduct 3D reconstructions for complex cases, including CT Angiography (CTA ), vascular CT studies and train/mentor staff to perform independently. Monitor and maintain the quality control/assurance program for CT equipment, ensuring adherence to ACR & The Joint Commission regulatory standards and safety protocols. Maintain knowledge of the latest advancements in CT technology as well as imaging techniques and implement best practices. Demonstrates competency, knowledge and observes safety guidelines when operating all specialized equipment in assigned clinical area. Performs CT diagnostic procedures on a daily basis, employing specific technical skill level required to produce quality diagnostic images on all equipment with minimal error rate. Assists Radiologist/Cardiologist/physician in patient care during procedure. Act as a liaison between the CT department and radiologists, in order to facilitate communication and collaboration for improving patient care. Adheres to the MSMC established Personnel Radiation Dosimeter Policy as observed by the Director/Assistant Director & RSO, and as documented in department policy. Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of necessary computer programs/software (EPIC, SYNAPSE & other specialized programs). Develop and implement training programs for radiologists and other healthcare professionals on the effective use of 3D reconstructions and advanced CT protocols. Set up and oversee the operation of a specialized 3D lab to enable advanced post-processing and reconstruction of CT images. Collaborate with the billing and coding team to ensure proper documentation and billing for CT studies that involve 3D reconstructions and specialized imaging protocols, especially CTA and vascular CT studies. Regularly assess the performance of the 3D lab and protocols, making necessary adjustments and improvements for enhanced efficiency and accuracy. Demonstrates proficiency in performing & documenting phantom Quality Control on all Siemens & GE CT Scanners. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making related to CT imaging services. Assist in the development of research projects and contribute to publications related to CT imaging advancements and protocols. Proficient in 3D imaging & post-processing (Circle Of Willis, Aorta, Boney Extremities, Carotids, Cardiac, Cardiac CTA). Proficient in performing Coronary Angio, Cystogram, Virtual Colonography, TAVR, Enterography and Rectal Contrast procedures. Assists with all accreditation activities, including the application and maintenance of accreditation status by ensuring compliance with all standards and guidelines.Qualifications:
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (CT) and hold a current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of HRS, Radiation Control. Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Radiologic Technology Program for Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Must possess effective communications skills, good judgment and problem solving skills. Ability to plan, organize, direct and control activity. Must have 15+ years experience and proficiency in advanced CT procedures with minimum of 10 years experience in establishing CT protocols.Benefits:
