CT Screening Coordinator-Full Time Days/Evenings

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for the coordination of all operational, medical, and non-technical functions regarding CT Screenings at Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, LLC. This position will report directly to the MIF Manager. The CT Screening Coordinator will ensure that the screening patients meet the screening criteria, are scheduled in a satisfactory manner, receive all pre and post-study documentation and education, and provide documentation that the patient has received the appropriate follow-up care following their study. The CT Screening Coordinator will be responsible for lung data collection and submission to the American College of Radiology lung screening registry. The CT Screening Coordinator will also compile comparative and correlation data to measure the benefits of the services, and have such data readily available for the MIF Manager and Radiologists at Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg. The CT Screening Coordinator will participate and work with the education of the patients and Physicians in the community. Additionally, the CT Screening Coordinator supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of the Mary Washington Healthcare System and demonstrates a commitment of quality service to our patients and their families, the community, the physicians, and our Associates.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Receives patient and referring physician phone calls relating to the CT Screening services; provides education to potential screening patients directly relating to the CT Screening programs for MIF, LLC, and assure that the candidate meets the criteria for CT Screenings as defined by the MIF CT Screening policy.Coordinates and schedules patients; communicates these times with MIF Scheduling, Insurance Verification and the CT department at MIF, LLC.Provides the necessary documentation and information to the patient prior to the study.Coordinates post procedure education and documentation to the patient regarding the appropriate follow-up care, and coordinates any necessary consultation time that may be needed between the radiologist and the patient.The Coordinator will participate in any such meetings as determined by the Radiologist.Confirms receipt of the findings to the patient and Primary Care Physician through communication with the patient and/or doctor’s office.Compiles data and elicits feedback from all parties regarding the benefits of the CT Screening programs, and reports such findings to the Manager of MIF.Works closely with the MIF physician liaison. The incumbent will coordinate the marketing and education of the CT Screening programs by communicating and working with the patients and physicians in the community to understand the benefits and details of the CT Screening programs available at MIF, LLC. May be asked to assist in MIF, LLC marketing and/or physician liaison activities.Interacts effectively and professionally with patients of all age groups and adheres to departmental policies, procedures, standards, and protocols to ensure effective departmental operations and quality patient care.Maintains a professional and safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by requiring and supporting the establishment, maintenance, and education of an effective safety management program. Adheres to radiation safety practices for patients, personnel, and self, including principles of time, distance, and shielding where possible.Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials directly related to the CT Screening programs, by ordering and restocking to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services.Responsible for the growth and goal obtaining for the screening program.Responsible for data collection and submission to the Lung screening registry as required by using primordial lung cancer screening and the ACR lung cancer screening registry.Assists in the coordination of patient referrals to specialists following a screening diagnosis.Ensures that lung screening patients are scheduled and receive follow up exams as recommended.Reports on volume trends for the CT Screening programs and actively works with the MIF Manager on volume growth initiatives.Sets goals and expectations for the CT Screening programs around quality and growth and be able to report this data.Tracks necessary patient data using Primordial and enters the data in the appropriate database for the Health Screening programs.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School/GED required.Associates degree in a health care related or marketing field preferred.Experience and ability to work with physicians, staff, and patients in a confidential and efficient manner.Previous experience in Health Care and Marketing Experience preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong Excel and Power Point skills, Data Collection and Reporting.
