CT Technologist 1

Job Summary: Under supervision, the Technologist performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans based on prescribed protocols. The position prepares patients physically and mentally, uses equipment safely, and conducts themselves professionally. The position utilizes National Patient Safety Goals (NSPG), requiring two patient identifiers for each exam. The position maintains radiation safety regulations and immunology protocols. The position works with clinical students as required. Maintains and continues to increase knowledge and experience of routine diagnostic CT exams. Follows HIPAA and corporate compliance guidelines. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Graduate from an accredited American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program in Radiologic Technology required. One year of experience in Computer Tomography (CT) preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of CT Radiology procedures, CT Scanners, radiation safety, universal precautions, immunology protocols, and general office software and equipment. Skill to apply knowledge of CT Scanners and radiology procedures to produce contrast and non-contrast studies of all body locations. Skill to ensure all scans adhere to radiation safety, universal protections, and immunology. Ability to complete paperwork correctly and efficiently and maintain rooms orderly and clean. Ability to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, electronic event reporting program, established organization electronic medical record; comprehend and follow-through with instructions;  ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; lead, supervise, teach, and accept direction; think critically and use good judgment; problem solve and collaborate with licensed care providers as necessary. Ability to work in a challenging clinical environment; demonstrate self-motivation; work independently with minimal supervision; communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math and statistical functions; compose written material; multitask and manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position.

Licensures and Certifications: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), Basic Life Support, (BLS) Certification, and IV Certification required. Computed Tomography (CT) ARRT Registry eligible and must be taken within 6 months of hire date. ARRT (CT) must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
