Position Summary
Performs all computed tomography examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. CT technologist integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
Primary Position Responsibilities
-Perform CT scans, including patient positioning, scanner set-up, radiation exposure technique, image acquisition and post-processing.
-Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.
-Utilizes sterile technique and performs venipuncture and vascular access.
-Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.
-Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and practice the principles of patient satisfaction.
-Assist physician in the performance of invasive and/or interventional CT procedures.
-Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Preferred:
1-2 years CT experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
ARRT Registry in Radiography or registry-eligible and NJDEP Xray License
Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Preferred:
CT Registry
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Must have scientific CT Scan knowledge and technical skills to effectively interact with all patients to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
