Join our dynamic and compassionate Radiation Oncology team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care within our community! UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a skilled CT Technologist. This is a full-time flex position which guarantees you at least 28 hours per week, but may offer up to 40 on an as-needed basis. **Responsibilities:** + Perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration, without requiring constant supervision. + Execute a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes. + Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data, completing procedures according to protocol. + Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and the use of power injectors according to department and manufacturer protocols. + Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and department policy, assessing patients for potential risk factors prior to the administration of contrast media. + Communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and solicit cooperation. + Interact effectively with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Work as a team member within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. + Ensure proper patient identification using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results. Document patient history in electronic records as required. + Ensure all exams within your area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the RIS system. Network all exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and ensure all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. Education: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist is required or certified by a CNMT program. + Must obtain CT board certification within 18 months of hire date, 24 months of hire date if certified by a CNMT program. + CPR or BLS Required.
