Under the direction of the Medical Director and Director of Imaging Services, operates diagnostic equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests inclusive of positioning patient, calibration of equipment, and documentation of findings. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, adherence to department policies, and effective communication with physicians, staff and patients. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Assists patients with basic patient care needs. Displays positive support for and promotes the Values, Mission and Vision of CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial.

Performs CT exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols underthe direction of the Medical Director.
Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according todiagnostic standards.
Problem-solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CESregarding equipment problems.
Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed during/ after each procedure,and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards. 15. Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained.
Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with thenecessary supplies required to perform the procedure.
Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergentpatient requests.
Reviews the physician Orders to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indicationfor the procedure is consistent.
Communicates with Radiologist to obtain proper exam protocol/test design. Provides specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of thediagnostic test involvement.
Performs Point of Care testing for lab tests according to hospital guidelines. Effectively starts IVs following hospital guidelines. Completes the diagnostic examination and all image post processing. Demonstrates competency in PACS process and Performs daily QA process. Completes image processing, including supporting documentation of logs, demographic and diagnostic information required for departmental, hospital and patient record documentation.26. Responsible for monitoring and recording radiation dose levels. Supports department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization; serves aspreceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Rotates weekend/call responsibilities in a professional and accountable fashion if applicable. 29. Provides the requesting physician with preliminary findings based on diagnostic criteria establishedfor procedure.
Maintains proficiency in ancillary areas of department, i.e., radiology, front desk, patient transportand provides support when needed.
Performs duties in accordance with that of hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory agencyguidelines,
Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education Level Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited institution.
Licensure /Certification
Required:BLS certification (through an approved AHA program) & Licensed as Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Texas Medical Board (TMB) &
Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (R)
