Our imaging and radiology services teams work with doctors, nurses and other clinicians to deliver comprehensive care. Our digital imaging technology allows doctors to access test results immediately, so treatment can begin more quickly. Our trained imaging technologists are certified with advanced registries and are focused on patient safety and comfort. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio.

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, CT Technologist utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instruction, administer contrast materials, perform venipuncture, prepare and operate CT scan equipment, position the patient to capture the appropriate images, obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the department protocols. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Job Requirement Include:

Education: 

Required: High school diploma.Required: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program.

Experience: 

Required: Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate.CT Scanners emit radiation, which can be harmful for the technologist and patient if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Licenses/Certificates: 

Required: Registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technology.Required: State license or certification if applicable.Preferred: Advanced ARRT Registration.Required: CPR required within 30 days from hire date.
