Job Description:
We are seeking a professional and experienced Culinary Assistant to join our hospitality and catering team at a prestigious law firm in Downtown Los Angeles. This role is ideal for a service-oriented individual with a strong background in food preparation, banquets/catering, and high-end hospitality.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in food service, catering, or a related field, along with a valid California Food Handler certification. Formal culinary training is highly desirable, as we are looking for someone eager to develop their skills and advance within our team, with the potential to grow into the Lead Chef position.
This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours per week) offering a professional, fast-paced work environment with opportunities for growth. Paid parking is provided.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & ServicePrepare and serve hot and cold meals following recipes and food service standards.Maintain a high standard of food quality and presentation in all catering services.Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry best practices.Conference Room & Event SupportSet up and breakdown meeting rooms, including rearranging tables, chairs and other furniture.Assist in coordinating and executing formal and informal dining setups.Conduct routine inspections of conference rooms and kitchens to ensure cleanliness and readiness.Kitchen & Pantry MaintenanceOperate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, coffee machines, dishwashers, and beverage dispensers.Maintain coffee stations, cafés, and kitchen areas to industry cleanliness standards.Manage inventory, order supplies, and restock pantry items as needed.Additional DutiesPick up food and supplies from markets or external vendors.Assist with expense submissions, cost recovery tracking, and other administrative tasks as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements
Certification & Education:Valid California Food Handler Card (required).High School Diploma or GED.Culinary training or formal coursework (preferred).Experience & Skills:Minimum two years of experience in food service, catering, or hospitality.Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a professional team environment.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs. (heavy lifting required).Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and sit for extended periods.Technical Skills:Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is a plus.Familiarity with office equipment (copiers, scanners) is an added advantage.The Compensation range for this role is 24.80 to 30.00 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
