The successful candidate:

This is a Full-time position where you will work 8 hours between the hours of 6:30am - 6:00pm plus every other weekend.

​Responsibilities Include: ​

Ensure a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment coupled with an unparalleled level of customer service is paramount to guarantee a positive experience for all patients, caregivers, stakeholders, and guests.

Responsibilities include managing all cash transactions for food items and maintaining as well as setting up the serving and dining areas.

Assists with dining room set-up table clearing and resetting as needed.  Works with appropriate departments to coordinate daily menu signage, food displays, guest special needs requests and requirements. 

Receives and greets customers, suggests, and describes available menu items, resolves customer concerns.

Operates cash register for customers purchasing hot and cold food items adhering to established pricing structures and correct portion sizes to charge each customer appropriately. Follows all pricing structures and cash handling polices and guidelines and completes end of shift reporting and deposit.

Ensures proper sanitation of entire workstation and area, hand hygiene, guest contact surfaces and as instructed by leadership using ServSafe as reference.

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred  

Minimum Experience

Preferred: A minimum of one year's experience in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, or a high-volume hospital cafeteria setting.

Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential.

Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, is necessary.

Must have strong attention to detail, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills.

Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment are required.

Required Licensure & Certifications

ServeSafe is preferred, but not required

75% Patient & Customer Service

Is kind and courteous when answering customer questions, maintaining a high level of customer services and satisfaction

10% Sanitation and Temperature Validation

Ensures proper sanitation of entire workstation and area, hand hygiene, guest contact surfaces and as instructed by leadership using ServSafe as reference.

Ensures pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required. 

Inspects dining room and linens daily for proper appearance, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.

Validation of all temperature-controlled equipment and food and beverage items

Completes temperature log adherence using ServSafe guidelines as reference.

10% Participation

Active participation and documentation of completion of hospital and department required continuing education, quality improvement initiatives and maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPPA. Acts as back-up for other culinary tasks and performs all other duties as assigned.

5% Inventory & Supply

Partners with department leadership to maintain proper supply levels for all areas serviced by the culinary department such as ensuring proper coffee and tea levels, restocking paper goods, utensils, condiments, and retail food and beverage while following ServSafe FIFO (First In First Out) and all other established guidelines. Checks items for expiration dates.

Ensures the dining room layout and design are adhered to and suggests additional service supplies and/or small equipment as needed. 

Maintains Salad Bar keeping product full and overall salad area clean, fresh, well stocked and organized.
