Located within the XFINITY Center, The Maryland Club offers an elevated, exclusive dining experience in the heart of collegiate athletics. Known for its premium food and beverage offerings, the Maryland Club provides game-day service to suites, a high-end all-inclusive feast in the club, and an upscale private social club environment. Our mission is to deliver an exceptional and unforgettable dining experience, both on and off game days.

 

THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, this individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day culinary operations of the Maryland Club. This includes overseeing game-day service for suites and the all-inclusive feast, as well as handling culinary execution for private events. The Culinary Supervisor will ensure top-quality food preparation, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations. They will assist in menu development, supervise staff, and ensure smooth kitchen operations under the Executive Chef’s guidance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead daily operations for all kitchen outlets, including game day suites and all-inclusive dining service in the Maryland Club. Maintain a high standard of food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality. Oversee the receiving, storage, and rotation of food items, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, including proper labeling and storage procedures. Ensure sanitation standards are upheld throughout the kitchen, maintaining compliance with local health department and company standards. Assist in menu development and creating daily features with the Executive Chef. Manage kitchen staff, ensuring training, uniform standards, and high levels of performance. Execute a smooth service pass and expediting to ensure timely and quality food delivery. Participate in monthly inventory and ensure all kitchen areas are clean and properly stocked. Maintain a positive working environment, high employee morale, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent culinary service. Provide leadership in managing the safety and functionality of kitchen equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to carry out each essential duty at the highest level. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary for the role:

Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory culinary role, preferably in fine dining or catering. Proven ability to improve kitchen efficiency, maintain food quality, and manage food costs. Strong leadership, financial management, and team-building skills. Thorough knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards and kitchen equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Flexibility to work extended hours due to business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to travel if required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands and arms to handle kitchen equipment. The employee must be able to stoop, lift, and transport food and kitchen items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
